Product Overview
FH® Alloy manufactures custom W type radiant tubes for industrial heat treatment furnaces, designed for indirect heating applications where stable heat transfer, high-temperature resistance and long-term structural reliability are required.
This W-shaped radiant tube is manufactured from HT heat-resistant alloy with an overall size of 1860 × 610 mm. Its multi-pass W configuration provides a large effective radiant surface within a relatively compact furnace space, making it suitable for industrial furnaces requiring efficient and uniform heating.
Each radiant tube can be manufactured according to the customer's furnace dimensions, burner arrangement, flange design, tube diameter and operating conditions.

What Is a W Type Radiant Tube?
A W type radiant tube is an indirect furnace heating component consisting of several straight tube sections connected through return bends to form a W-shaped gas path.
During furnace operation, hot combustion gases flow through the internal passage of the radiant tube. Heat is transferred through the heat-resistant alloy tube wall and radiated into the furnace chamber without allowing the combustion gases to directly contact the workpieces.
This design is commonly used when the furnace atmosphere or product surface needs to remain isolated from combustion products.
Compared with simpler straight or U-type designs, the W configuration can provide a larger radiant surface within the available furnace chamber.
Key Features of Our HT W Type Radiant Tube
HT Heat-Resistant Alloy Construction
The tube is manufactured from HT grade heat-resistant alloy, selected for demanding high-temperature furnace environments.
The material provides good resistance to:
- High-temperature oxidation
- Repeated heating and cooling cycles
- Thermal deformation
- Furnace atmosphere attack
- Long-term elevated-temperature service
Material selection can also be adjusted according to furnace temperature, atmosphere and expected service life.
Large Radiant Heating Surface
The W-shaped configuration creates multiple heating sections within one radiant tube assembly.
This helps increase the available radiant surface and allows furnace designers to make efficient use of the heating chamber.
The 1860 × 610 mm configuration shown here is manufactured for a customer's specific furnace installation.
Custom Engineered for Furnace Installation
Radiant tubes are not standard commodity products.
Dimensions normally need to match the existing:
- Furnace chamber
- Burner
- Recuperator
- Mounting flange
- Furnace wall
- Tube supports
- Gas flow requirements
FH® Alloy can manufacture W radiant tubes according to an existing 2D drawing, 3D model or physical sample.
If the customer does not have a complete drawing, operating information can also be provided for engineering evaluation.
Heavy-Duty Furnace Construction
The W radiant tube shown in the product image uses a robust multi-section construction with an integrated mounting flange.
Critical areas such as tube connections, return bends and flange interfaces are manufactured with attention to dimensional accuracy because these areas are particularly important for reliable operation under repeated thermal cycling.
Typical Applications
FH® Alloy W type radiant tubes can be used in a wide range of industrial heating systems, including:
- Heat treatment furnaces
- Continuous furnaces
- Annealing furnaces
- Carburizing furnaces
- Hardening furnaces
- Roller hearth furnaces
- Industrial heating furnaces
- Protective-atmosphere furnaces
- Metal processing furnaces
They are particularly suitable for applications where indirect heating and controlled furnace atmosphere are required.
Why HT Alloy Is Used for Furnace Radiant Tubes
Radiant tubes are continuously exposed to severe operating conditions.
During service, the tube may experience high internal gas temperatures, external furnace temperatures, oxidation and repeated thermal expansion and contraction.
Therefore, radiant tube material must provide more than room-temperature mechanical strength.
HT heat-resistant alloy is designed for elevated-temperature applications and can provide the combination of oxidation resistance and high-temperature structural stability required for industrial furnace components.
However, the correct material should always be selected according to actual operating conditions.
FH® Alloy can manufacture radiant tubes in different heat-resistant alloy grades depending on:
Operating temperature · Furnace atmosphere · Burner type · Tube dimensions · Heating cycle · Expected service life
Custom W Type Radiant Tube Manufacturing
FH® Alloy focuses on custom furnace components rather than only standard-size products.
For W type radiant tubes, we can customize:
Tube Configuration
W type, U type, I type, M type, P type, straight type and special bent radiant tube designs are available.
