Nickel Alloy Castings Forgings Industry knowledge

What are the latest applications of Ni Alloy Castings Forgings in high-temperature components of aero-engines?

1. High-Pressure Turbine Blades and Rotor Disks: Due to their fine γ′ phase particles and high-strength γ phase matrix, nickel-based superalloy castings have become core materials for aero-engine rotor disks, compressor blades, and high-temperature turbine blades, maintaining high strength and creep resistance for thousands of hours at operating temperatures of 1050-1100°C.

2. Radiant Tubes and Furnace Rolls: According to SAE AMS5704L specifications, nickel-based forgings are widely used in components requiring high-temperature resistance (approximately 816°C) and oxidation resistance, such as radiant tubes, furnace rolls, and bearing sleeves.

3. Single-Crystal and Directionally Solidified Castings: Modern aero-engines utilize single-crystal or directionally solidified nickel-based castings to eliminate grain boundaries and significantly improve high-temperature strength and lifespan. These castings are already in mass production in several next-generation engines.

4. Company Advantages
Wuxi Junteng Fanghu Alloy Casting Co., Ltd. possesses a complete investment casting and heat treatment process chain, enabling rapid delivery of Ni Alloy Castings Forgings that meet the specifications of the aforementioned high-temperature components. This helps customers improve engine performance while controlling costs.

How is the corrosion resistance of Ni Alloy Castings Forgings guaranteed under high temperature and high pressure environments?

1. High-Temperature Oxide Film Protection
At temperatures of 800-1000°C, nickel-based alloys form a dense double-layer protective film of nickel oxide (NiO) and aluminum oxide (Al₂O₃), significantly inhibiting the oxidation rate and ensuring structural integrity in high-temperature environments above 1500°F (≈816°C).

2. Synergistic Effect of Alloying Elements
Adding elements such as Cr, Al, Ti, and Mo can form stable chromium oxide or aluminum oxide layers on the alloy surface. These layers provide an additional corrosion barrier in high-pressure steam or gas environments. ASTM B637-18 specifically specifies the heat treatment and surface condition of such alloys to meet medium- and high-temperature corrosion requirements.

3. Heat Treatment and Surface Pre-oxidation Process
Rapid cooling followed by high-temperature solution treatment, followed by pre-oxidation, can generate a uniform and dense oxide layer on the alloy surface, significantly improving corrosion resistance in high-pressure steam environments above 700°C.
